Abstract | The purpose of this paper is to reflect on the practices of caseworkers in services dedicated to migrants. Frequently, in such contexts, the implementation of assistance and fragmented paths is noted, which are likely to increase the condition of social marginalization of migrants once they have left the reception circuit. These practices amplify the situation of the migrant's vulnerability and aid dependency, making the goal of a path towards autonomy and aimed at the realization of a new life project increasingly distant. The article underlines the need to redefine the action and contexts to encourage a close encounter between institutional and social mandate in the mission of the managing bodies and in the caseworkers’ practices. This would require a greater focus on taking charge of the migrants towards the care of the relationship in educational, intercultural and planning terms. |
