Disabilità infantile: l’intervento educativo nel rapporto mamma-bambino verso l’accettazione della diagnosi. Uno studio di caso.

Abstract

The paper aims to present an observational case study of a child who, in the prenatal period, is diagnosed with a giant omphalocele with alteration of the gene 13 and 16, resulting in a strong emotional impact on the parents. First, we describe the pathology and then briefly present the model used by the “Developmental service” as support for the family: it is the Touchpoints model by Brazelton, an American pediatrician who proposed, less than half a century ago, an approach that shifts the concentration from child and family deficits to their positive characteristics and resources, recognizing the infant's skills and active role in mother-infant interaction. The focus of the research work was the educational project of the child and his family: for the presentation of the case, it was decided to use the educational design model adopted by Bobbo and Moretto, as it was able to make the approach systematic and therefore easy to share the project. At the end of this path, it was proposed to bring out the skills of the professional educator.
