The cultural habitus that characterises care environments recognises in the patient not only physical suffering but also emotional fragility and the need for understanding, support and listening (Bruzzone, 2020). This necessarily presupposes a professionalism on the part of healthcare personnel adhering to a behavioural code of humanity and altruism (Consorti, 2014). An empathic dimension that implies costs for the practitioner's well-being and emotional dissonance (Glomb & Tews, 2002). Which, over time, can lead to states of compassion fatigue, depersonalisation and bournout (Schaufeli, 2017). Therefore, the object of the present contribution is a practical-poetic reflection (Damiano, 1993) on the pedagogical action of Graphic Medicine (Czerwiec et al 2015) capable, this, of activating a paradigm of well-being and self-care for caregivers (Calabrese, 2019). Through an aesthetic and medial method, it will be demonstrated how the art of comics is a valid instrument of well-being.
