The educational value of arts and narrative forms for wellbeing of healthcare professionals

Author
Abstract

The current context is mainly oriented towards the acquisition of information and skills risking of leaving in shadows the inner life of people. This eventuality increases for personal care and helping professions, particularly exposed to psychosocial risks of burnout. The daily fatigue and proximity to suffering can wear down professional motivation, even if the inner world remains dynamic and led to explore forms of expression by drawing on the connection between arts, beauty and well-being. With reference to new forms of self-learning, listening, narration and aesthetic exploration for helping professions, the contribution aims to highlight the educational potential of arts and beauty for the empowerment of healthcare professions.
